| Taking The Secret Out Of Secretary! |

My love of sailing began in the early 1980s, when I began crewing for a friend on a ‘Hobie 18’ right here in Daytona Beach. For several years we participated in our local Hobie Fleet 80 races and many other regattas around the state. Career and opportunity took me away from the sport for some time, but I was fortunately reintroduced to my love of sailing in 2007 when my husband and I signed all 3 of our children up for ‘SailCamp’ and they, as well, fell in love with the sport. Since then, we have joined some of my sailing friends from the '80s and new ones from today to promote the art and skill of sailing to kids through our affiliation with Halifax Youth Sailing. For us, sailing is a family affair. Our teenage children are all dedicated members of the HYS ‘Race Team’ and enjoy practicing on a regular schedule, while my husband and I get to sail right along with them, just for fun. Our entire family is excited to help promote the wonderful sport of sailing to our local youth and their families.Pete Haley - President |
